About AISA
AI Safety Asia (AISA) is a regional organisation dedicated to building credible, interoperable AI governance across Asia. We work at the intersection of research, convening, and capacity building to ensure that Asian perspectives shape global AI governance and that the region develops practical capabilities to govern AI safely and responsibly.
Our capacity building programs train government officials, civil society leaders, and other stakeholders, primarily across ASEAN countries, equipping them with practical AI governance skills to drive meaningful policy change in their jurisdictions.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Project Manager to lead the operational delivery of AISA's AI governance training programs across the region. This role is central to our mission of building a critical mass of leaders with practical AI governance skills across ASEAN.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, has experience coordinating multi-stakeholder programs, and is passionate about building governance capacity in emerging technology. You will work closely with government partners, civil society organisations, and our internal team to deliver high-impact training at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Program & People Management
- Plan, coordinate, and execute AI governance training programs for government officials and civil society leaders across ASEAN countries
- Manage end-to-end program logistics including scheduling, venue coordination, participant communications, and materials preparation
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and repeatable systems to deliver training at scale
- Track program metrics, collect participant feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement of training content and delivery Stakeholder Coordination
- Line manage a direct report, providing direction, support, and performance oversight to ensure training content meets program goals
Partner Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for training participants, government partners, and civil society organizations
- Coordinate with trainers, facilitators, and subject matter experts to ensure smooth program delivery
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the region to support program outreach and recruitment
Operations and Administration
- Manage program budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective delivery
- Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements for participants and facilitators as needed
- Prepare reports and documentation for internal stakeholders and funders
- Support broader organizational operations as needed
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in project management, program coordination, or event management
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia
- Experience working with government agencies, NGOs, or international organisations
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment with a distributed team
Preferred
- Based in Jakarta, Indonesia
- Experience in capacity building, training delivery, or executive education programs
- Familiarity with AI, technology policy, or governance topics
- Proficiency in other ASEAN languages
- Experience working across multiple ASEAN countries
